Milbon Photographic Competition

During our latest trip to Tokyo we had the opportunity to sit down with the education and marketing teams at Milbon. While we can’t wait to give you the scoop on some of the really interesting and unique things the do behind the scenes, we wanted to quickly share this competition opportunity. Because the finalists are FLOWN TO JAPAN for the event.

Imagine if NAHA was in Tokyo and instead of having to pay to schlep your bags on Southwest to Orlando… they were like “No my dude… let us pick that up” and put you on a flight to fricken Japan. So yeah… we definitely want to see all our hair nerd besties enter this!

Competition Outline

DA-AD creates visuals with a theme slogan that represents the era, and enhances one's ability to move people's heart through expressions in a "socially-minded advertising photo event".

Thoughts behind the theme slogan.

We cannot predict what lies ahead.That is why we must hold onto hope.
A positive attitude to move forward at all times will surely become the driving force behind a strong leap.

Guidelines

• Please make sure to include the theme slogan "HOPE IS POWER" in your work

  • *There are no specific fonts, sizes or colors as long as it is large enough to be noticeable

  • *The slogan can be in both capital and small letters. However, adding other slogan other than the given theme slogan is prohibited

  • *Please be careful of spelling mistakes

• Hair should be visible in work

  • *Close-up of only the face and hat that obstructs the hair will not be taken into consideration

• No limitations in model's gender, number of models, use of wigs, digital editing, location of photoshoot whether it is indoor or outdoor

• *Due to the system limitations, we cannot accept any entries or applications that have passed the deadline.

• ¥100,000

• Original plaque.

• *Even if one work wins multiple awards, no additional prize money will be added.

• *In the final selection round, works that have passed the first screening will also be posted on the website.

Application Rules & Regulations

Application Terms & Conditions

• Only hair designers from salons carrying Milbon products may apply.

• Entry is FREE.

• Application through ONLINE only.

• Multiple applications are accepted, however it is limited up to FIVE per person.

Photo Guidelines

• Data format: JPEG only

• Size requirement: A4 (Aspect ratio 3:2 or 7:5 is acceptable)
  At least 1,800 pixels on the long edge, and it can be either in horizontal or vertical position.

• Image size: Min. 1MB and max. 10MB

• All works will be reviewed using the iPad 2020 (8th Gen) with retina display.

Prohibited Matter

• Submission of works that plagiarize or imitate other people's photograph, painting, artwork, costume, and etc. is prohibited.

• Submission of works that may violate human rights, dicriminate, or defame is prohibited.

• Socially inappropriate works that are found to have violated rules may be disqualified at the organizer's discretion.

• Entry is limited to original works which have not been published in general or industry magazines.

• Duplicate entries (even if it uses different angles, poses, and costumes) and those which have been used in other contests or have been published in general and industry magazines are prohibited.

• The copyright of the submitted works shall belong to Milbon Co., Ltd.
  We are not responsible for any issues related to image rights or copyrights.

• Please be sure to submit works that is created on your own.

• Changes and modifications to works cannot be made after the application deadline.

• Submitted works may be posted on our media platforms (such as advertisements, websites, pamphlets and etc.) without the prior consent of the applicant, so please obtain permission from the photographer or model before applying.

• If a winner is found to be in violation of rules after the selection, the entrant will be disqualified and the award and monetary prize will be revoked.

• Submitted works will remain posted on the website until next year when application is open.
