Could you share a memorable moment or highlight from your journey with the Hairbrained Awards that has stayed with you over the years?

Aside from winning I always love the HVA award night in NYC. A night out celebrating with your peers is always a priceless time for me.

The Hairbrained community is known for its creativity and innovation. How do you think being a part of this community has helped you push the boundaries of your craft?

I’m fortune and honored to be a member of the HB community from the start and we have all continued to push each other creatively and communally along the way.

Can you describe your creative process when working on a Hairbrained Awards submission? What inspires your unique concepts and designs?

I keep it simple. I figure out what technique I want to show. Then how to film it and in what setting. Once it’s captured it’s then all about the edit and that’s subjective to what you want the audience to feel.

What are your thoughts on the impact of social media and digital platforms in shaping the careers of today's hairdressers and artists?

Gone are the days of climbing weird corporate ladders to try and showcase your talent and passion for the craft. We have the vehicle (social) to drive us wherever whenever now, and I’m all for it.

What role do you see Hairbrained and similar platforms playing in the future of the beauty and hairstyling industry?

I see the platform as an accessible window to education and what’s happening in our craft. It continues to mold the future by providing the platform for like minded artists to showcase real education for real hairdressers.

How can people find out more about you?

You can find me on social at @danieljosephmuldoon and @knowledgedestroysfear
